About Team NP
Team Neuropsychiatry studies the neural mechanisms underlying vulnerability to neuropsychiatric disorders, ranging from neurodevelopmental disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, to neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson’s disease, as well as trauma- and sleep-related disorders. Our research focuses on identifying the biosignatures of symptom profiles at the various stages of disease. Furthermore, we investigate the targets and mechanisms of action of treatments, with focus on innovative forms of psychotherapy, physical training, and non-invasive neuromodulation.
The team functions at the intersection of Psychiatry, Anatomy & Neuroscience, and Neurology, bringing together expertise from different disciplines to use various multi-modal brain imaging methods. Our TMS-EEG labs are available for experimental studies and clinical trials in collaboration with researchers across the institute. At the international level, members of Team Neuropsychiatry lead the ENIGMA-OCD and ENIGMA-Parkinson consortia, contributing to large-scale collaborative research aimed at advancing our understanding of brain disorders.
